Hakuba in the Japanese Alps
Arriving in Hakuba for a snowboarding holiday with some mates in 2003, if someone had told me it would become my home in a few years time I would have thought ”no chance”. Move the clock forward to 2006 and I am opening a hotel. Move the clock forward again to 2008 and I am out in the backcountry skiing with Olympic champions Johnny Moseley and Takahiro Sakamoto while they were filming the next Warren Miller movie.
I now keep busy managing a number of hotels around Hakuba offering something for everyone – from higher-end Japanese style accommodation, western lodge style accommodation perfect for groups or families, to a backpacker style lodging. We have hotels located in all areas of Hakuba: the restaurant and bar hub of Echoland, the picturesque forest of Wadano, as well as some hotels close to the ski lifts.
Our philosophy for all our hotels is to make sure our guests have the best holiday experience possible – one they’ll never forget.
